The 2015 NZ Crowdfunding Video Awards were presented on 27 March 2015 at the Initiate Crowdfunding Summit in Auckland.

During the Summit, the finalists were played to the audience, with the awards presented at the end of the day.

There were three awards up for grabs:

  • Crowd favourite (taken from an online vote)
  • Audience favourite (taken from a vote of the Summit attendees)
  • Judges choice

GiveALittle and Spark My Potential parent company Two Tales made a clean sweep, with projects from their platform taking all three awards.

The winners were:

Crowd Favourite

Liliu Le Taimi: A Modern Samoan Love Story – Jordan Kwan (Spark My Potential)

Audience Favourite

Let’s Eat – Hayley Yu (Spark My Potential)

Judges Choice

Top of the South Stranding Trailer – Project Jonah (GiveALittle)

All three of the videos were highly effective, contributing to each of the projects meeting their goals. The judges commented that the Project Jonah video was especially effective as they found themselves reaching for their wallets to donate before it was even over! – The ultimate goal of a crowdfunding video!
