When I was a kid I got given a book. It was called Just Say No.

It was mostly a ‘stranger-danger’ warning.

I can say no to getting into a strange man’s car, but it is really hard for me to say no to helping people.

And this is one type of project I’m going to say no to.

I think everyone has to stay in their area of expertise and ‘zone of genius’.

And I’m going to be honest with you: I don’t believe I can help you fund your app.

Even if it is the best idea in the world, there is one universal truth:

People don’t put value on apps

AND apps cost a lot of money to make.

The maths just doesn’t work out. Everyone is used to getting their apps for free. $9.99 is a very expensive app.

The highest funded app on Kickstarter right now makes a film about every day of your life. It’s a pretty awesome idea… but it only bought in $56K.

And every app producer who has approached me wants at least $200,000.

Getting enough people to stump up the amount you need is very, very difficult – and to be totally honest with you, not worth my time.

But don’t let that stop you chasing your dream.

Apps DO fund with the right goals. So take a look around the rest of the site, use the hints, tip,s and resources, and feel free to prove me wrong!
