I like music. All kinds of music.
I think music helps uplift you, calm you down, and psych yourself up.
So I’ve spent some time putting together this mixtape post of songs to listen to throughout your crowdfunding campaign. These are designed to support you from the moment you hit the ‘Launch’ button, right through until the moment you fund (or not).
So without further adeiu, here are 11 songs to crowdfund to.
1. Aerosmith – Dream On
You’re just about to hit that button. Your emails are ready to go.
Take a moment to listen to this song. Close your eyes. Let it wash over you and psych you up.
Dream on: envision this project crossing the line. When the song finishes, hit that launch button.
2. I Need A Dollar – Aloe Blacc
One of the hardest things about running a crowdfunding campaign is asking for the money.
So play this one loud and sing along at the top of your lungs. Get used to asking for that dollar.
3. Jessie Jay (feat. B.o.B) – Price Tag
It’s not about the money, money, money.
Sometimes it’s about the people, the crowd, and all the other cool things that happens around the fringe of a crowdfunding project.
And when things aren’t quite going right, sometimes it pays to remember the bigger picture.
5. Idina Menzel – Let It Go
Crowdfunding is hard work. And emotional. You’ll face all sorts of weird blocks, fears, and relationship problems.
And the best advice is to just make like Elsa and Let It Go.
Don’t focus on the negative. Move on and try something new.
5. Bjork – It’s Oh So Quiet
About half way through your campaign, you will find things slow right down.
It’s pretty normal.
Take a breath. This is just a short phase. It will pass.
6. Watsky – Never Let It Die
This one is frequently on my daily playlist.
It’s a good reminder that you are doing this for a reason. You’re following your passions and dreams and that is awesome.
Don’t forget it. Keep your ambitions alive!
7. Kate Nash – Dickhead
Sometimes people just actually suck.
Sing this one loud and proud – it will help.
8. Taylor Swift – Shake It Off
Forget about what people are saying, or telling you. Forget about the dickheads and the frustration.
Shake it off. Take a dance break. Jump around the kitchen like a loonatic while singing into your dishbrush.
Then move on. Keep going.
9. Bob Marley – Give Thanks And Praises
Your backers are what get you over the line. You can’t do it by yourself.
So say thanks. Be grateful.
10. Kool and the Gang – Celebration
Heck yes! You funded!!
Jump around, dance, celebrate!
You’ve got a lot of work ahead of you. Enjoy the moment.
11. Aaliah – Try Again
Maybe you didn’t fund. It’s not the end of the world.
Failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently. Take a couple of days to decompress, then start again.
Next time you’ll be playing Kool And The Gang.
