Hold Your Breath – a short film

[sq_bgt_pop_shortcode option_id=1]

I’ve gone on a bit of a crowd-funding rampage lately. I decided I’m going to write a quick blog about what each one of them is, and why you should join me in funding them.

Don’t worry, I’m not planning to post a dozen in a week and then go away. My plan is to publish the blogs within a week of their finish date. This means you’ll be able to get in there as well, if you think they’re as cool as I do.

So on with the first one. It’s a pretty urgent project, and it strikes a chord with me.

Hold Your Breath – a short film, on PledgeMe

I haven’t backed anything on PledgeMe before, but there was no way I was going to let the opportunity to back the last short film to be made on 35mm film in New Zealand go by.

I can’t even tell you how much I want this project to be funded. Film has been a huge part of my life, and over the last 5 years it’s been phased out almost completely. It’s the death of an entire industry, and for those of us with celluloid in our veins, it’s sad to see it go.

This project is time-sensitive as Park Road Post (the last film processing unit in Australasia) closes in just over 2 weeks. That limits their funding options significantly. They can’t get NZ Film Commission funding AND shoot on 35mm. That’s why they’ve turned to crowdfunding. They only have one week to raise $10,000. Most of the equipment has been donated, but the production costs still need to be met. The film itself sounds awesome as well.

Minimum pledge: $5.

Reward options: Really great actually. Minimum pledge gets you a thank-you credit and a digital download of the film. The higher reward levels are also pretty cool.

Closing: 11pm, Wednesday 19 June.

Back it now!
