I’ve been feeling a little lost lately
You see, some people tell me my prices are too low. Others tell me my prices are too high. Some people agree I should charge for my content, but others believe I should only receive payment for campaigns I work on when they succeed.
There are problems with every model, but I’m not here to bore you with that.
Helping people to crowdfund successfully is my job – a job I’m really good at – but I’ve begun to lose my way because it’s really, really hard to make the business work. I’m pioneering here, and being a pioneer is hard and confusing.
But last week I did something different. I gave away my most valuable resource to my email subscribers. I just decided to simply give it away for nothing. No catches. If you were on the mailing list, you got it.
And that made me realise something.
I realised that the thing I love most about this job is helping people to create campaigns that don’t suck
All those sucky projects out there are the reason I started doing this in the first place.
So I came up with this crazy idea. You see, in New Zealand, Māori have a custom called “Koha”. It can be translated as a gift, present, offering, donation or contribution.
So starting today, and each week for the next 4 weeks, I am giving YOU a koha
Here’s how it works:
- Each Monday I will release a limited number of 15 minute “Koha Sessions” on my website for Friday that week.
- All you need to do is head to the Bookings page, select “Talk to Kat – Koha Session” and book your slot. It’s totally free.
- On Friday, we’ll sit down via Skype (or, if you’re in New Zealand or Australia, I can give you a call if you’d prefer) and discuss what’s on your mind.
- If you do find the session valuable, and you do think it was worth paying for, you’ll have the opportunity to provide a koha in return. I’m not setting my prices, or telling you when (or even if) you should pay me. You’re in control.
The first set of Koha appointments are online now. There are ten of them and they’re first-in, first-served.
We can talk about anything you want
We could:
- see if an idea you’ve got could be crowdfunded
- brainstorm your launch strategy
- review your video or rewards structure
- talk about your promotion plan
- discuss some tips to improve your campaign
Or anything else you want to ask me! The only condition is you only get 15 minutes. It’s up to you what you want to use them for.
But once they’re gone, they’re gone
You won’t get an opportunity again until NEXT Monday, so don’t miss your chance and get in now!
