She’s ALIVE!

Kat iconWell, we quietly launched last night, and so far the response has been good.

I think a few things might be broken. I’ll get to them this week, I promise. But right now I want to tell you who I am, what this website is, and what it can do for you.

My name’s Kat. I’ve been working for the last few years designing online learning for apprentices.

I’m really good at explaining processes. I break them down into pieces, research them, then build them back up into learning that makes sense. At work, that results in qualifications for people learning on-the-job. It’s an awesome feeling knowing I am upskilling the workforce in the places they are, at the time they need it.

In my spare time, I’m an avid backer of projects on crowdfunding websites. After my first few, I started to see some things successful campaigns did consistently. I also noted that those were reasons were the same things missing from many projects I chose not to back. I hada few theories, but I began looking into it. I found some blogs and advice, and the deeper I looked, the more I saw that these were, infact, success strategies.

I saw that this isn’t entirely a lottery. With a good, well thought-out idea and strategy, I really believe anyone can get funded using crowdfunding. It all comes down to your objectives, and how you approach putting your project online. So why weren’t more projects succeeding?

My research also showed that all the facts and figures about how to do well tended to be hidden and scattered over the internet on various blogs and other content channels. I’ve been researching and working on this thing for the last four months. I’m still digging deeper, but I haven’t found anything like Multitude on the market. The best guides are nearly always directed at a niche. In fact, the best general ‘how-to’ I could find was in a book! That didn’t seem right to me. Crowdfunding is new, and vibrant – and most importantly – online.

So that’s how Multitude came to be.

Right now we’re setting up, giving you the tools you need to run a successful campaign on any rewards-based crowdfunding platform, but this is just the beginning.

If you’re thinking about starting your own crowdfunding project, check out http://multitude.co.nz and follow us on Twitter and Facebook. There’s heaps more to come and 2014 looks like it’s gonna be great!
